23 Mar What Is Mediation
WHAT IS MEDIATION?
Mediation is a method of resolving conflict in which the parties themselves try and resolve their differences in a neutral, safe and non-judgemental environment. The mediator is there to facilitate this process, ensuring each party is heard, and, ultimately, to help the parties understand each other.
In a matrimonial mediation, the matters usually addressed include:
- Division of matrimonial property
- Spousal support
- Child support
- Parenting (i.e. access, scheduling)
